A fitting post for Easter…

WHETHER WE WALK OR CRAWL

Whether we walk or crawl toward who we are to be is not important.
It is that we continue to move forward…

And while there are those who may stand on the side of the road
shouting at us and laughing at us,
we know in our hearts that while they stand there,
feet firmly planted in their negative energy,
they stagnate
while we still crawl forward…

Hands and knees scraped and bruised from the merciless road,
we still find the courage to go on.
We find strength in those who truly believe in our journey,
in those who – instead of picking us up and carrying us –
will allow us the freedom to crawl at our own pace.
Stumbling along the way, falling on our faces, we find humility.
In mustering up the energy to stand and finally walk,
taking the next step,
we discover that the human spirit cannot be broken…

As Christ walked the path to Calvary,
thorns on His head, heavy burden on His back,
He focused on who He was to be….
The pain He felt in His heart for those who did not understand,
the weakness in His human frame,
and the fear that all but consumed Him
could not compare to the steadfast knowing
that He was to fulfill His purpose.
That knowing carried Him forward and
the love He had for us gave Him the strength to walk on – to certain death…

As we move forward and come to “know” our purpose,
our very existence shall be validated.

Though we, too, shall die and leave this earthly existence,
we shall be reunited with the one whose purpose was to
unlock the doorway to forever.
As Christ fulfilled His purpose, dying for us so that we could live,
let us strive to fulfill ours.

Whether we walk or crawl toward who we are to be is not important.
It is that we continue to move forward…
