This blog is called “Solitary Logic” because every morning when I play solitaire, some things become clear to me. The eye movement back and forth, scanning across the stacks of cards, is similar to EMDR, (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a therapy that “results in complete information processing, new learning, elimination of emotional distress, and development of cognitive insights.” (from http://www.EMDR.com)
Somehow, when I play solitaire, I have some powerful insights. Things I’ve been pondering seem to make sense. And often in the middle of a game, ideas come to me that are so powerful that I have to stop and write them down.
These are some of the things that will be posted on this blog – solitary thoughts from a solitaire player.
